I recived a Harry Potter Hogwarts Express Metal Earth kit in 2018 as a Christmas present from a family member. A year later I manage to make a start on it

Thanks Morris

You should try to build one, they take a little bit of getting used to, but once you done one, they get easier.

I've recently purchased a good set of precision scissors to cut the metal, some tweezers and thin nose modelling pliers to bend the tabs. Other than that, just follow the instructions and make sure that you pay attention to where the instructions images are marked either "E" (etched) or "N/E" (non etched) which tells you which side of the metal to have showing

great kit Roy with tons of detail. I will eventually have to have a go at a metal earth kit, all the pliers and snips I would imagine make the work a little easier.
Great subject :)

I never spotted that! The number of times I’ve bent a part the wrong way! Mind, mine generally come from Japan, so perhaps they’re different?

They are very easily overlooked, especially when you are getting tucked in to building the model. They can be seen here in the speech bubbles (E in black and N/E in white with red outline)

Definitely don’t have those E & NE on my instructions. Perhaps there is a small Japanese character I’ve overlooked? I’ll have a look when I get back.

Lovely little model. She looks quite challenging to build, and came out really well!

Thanks for all your kind replies, yes, it's a stunning little model and has come out well. It's feels quiet a solid little model with a little bit of weight to it compared to some of my other model earth models.
