Hachette 1/200 Bismarck

Postby Cosmic » Sun Jan 10, 2021 12:22 am

Good evening everyone,

I haven't shown my face around here for about 5 years now. I started building the Hachette Bismarck about 11 years ago when it first came out and was a memeber of the 'Build the Bismarck' forum, which I believe turned into this forum and it's nice to see people I remember such as Mark, Chill and Eric.

Thanks to being on furlough most of last year I finally, after 10 years, managed to get the time to plow through and finish the Bissie. And here she is....

I was 17 when I started this, I'm 28 now. It's been a great journey through my modelling life time, the largest and most complex one I've ever built. I struggled early on with lack of tools and skills so she sat shelved for many years with many family members and friends telling me to sell it and give up. But I never did and I'm so proud of her. I hope you like it and would love to here from anyone who remembers my build from years before, though I doubt it!

Kind regards,
Cos

Wow, that looks brilliant! The weathering is very effective. Not overdone, just enough to make her look realistic!

Welcome back, and glad you didn’t abandon her!
Cheers
