Useful Links for the XK E Coupe (E-Type)

Postby Paul » Thu Aug 11, 2011 3:14 pm

Hi all,

I thought I’d start this as both Julian & Casp have put some great links up to help with this build, though I can’t find them now …..!

Hi Julian, could you make this a “sticky” when the thread kicks off properly please.

For those that are building the XK E with as much detail as possible, the best place i've found for pics is HERE

For metal conversions, see Dr Astons

If you require a scanned copy of the instructions, I have them in PDF but pm me your email address and i'll happily mail it to you.
If it's Not Broke, Take it apart and make it better

Some good links I have found:

Online instructions
http://www.scalemotorcars.com/gallery/s ... hp?cat=674

Build summary of a French builder:
http://www.scalemotorcars.com/forum/lar ... e-but.html

Amazing detailed build diary by the French builder!
http://racing.conceptforum.net/t1808-ja ... nogram-1-8

As the captions are in French, I had another window running Google Translator to get the gist of what he was saying.

The same French guy has also scratch built a 1/8 Ford GT40 which you can find at scalemotorcars.com

For those of you that don’t have a spread sheet software, I’ve converted what was originally Julian’s spread sheet, in to a PDF:

Jaguar XK-E - Parts List.pdf
(293.01 KiB) Downloaded 289 times

Depending on what version of the model you have, the parts may vary slightly.

The “Part Colour” relates to the original colour of the parts as supplied:
• B – Black
• CL – Clear
• P – Chrome
• R – Red (as that is the colour of the Body shell & other parts that I have)
• S - Silver
