nice boss you have there dave!!
and the cat is also not bad

please ask your leather shop if they could hone the leather -
this way you'll get two things:
1. a very thin leather layer which is quite easy to handle and which also doesn't affect the fit of the parts
2. the back side of the leather which can be used as carpets (and with the benefit of being a similar colour to the top leather) -

well, at least this is what I'm doing here-
and have used the leather on 1:43 models so it's really really thin (look at my db5 seat somewhere on the master classes...)

Hi Dave,

Great that you've got the Cat :D , with the leather, get the thinest that you can re: tolerences with parts fitting, also it stretches more easily, than thicker ones :)

Leather is 0.5mm pigskin that has been through the splitter and 0.6mm lambskin for the black of the dashboard. Suede for the carpets and headlining will be 0.8mm. The lady says she will teach me to sew the leather but my eyesight and ham fists with puggy fingers are not the best implements for such delicate work, so she might have her work cut out if she thinks she can turn me into a seamstress :angry-banghead: :D :angry-banghead: . Also I need to produce some cutting templates.

Now for a quick question with regard to decals. Which ones should I look to duplicate?

I have seen the ones on top of the heater box, battery and washer bottle.

I am also looking at duplicating the chassis plate and body tag. Also smaller ones for oil filter, starter motor and alternator along with the Coopers air filter element.

Are there any others that I should look at?

Catch you latter

Hi Dave,

with the decals I think it's a matter of choice of what you want to do (sorry to be so vague as I don't know all the correct ones myself).

With the decals, I like what Casp has done, but that's a personal choice.

I think that Casp, Julian and Baby Astons are the experts on being truely correct to the original cars as they have all done a lot of research. :)
