Samurai Helmet

Here's a little section of anybody who manages to find a really odd ball model that doesn't fit into any of the other catergories.

Samurai Helmet

OK, I managed to find a model that didn't fit into any of the above categories !

This is a Samurai Helmet by Doyusha. It's all pre-coloured, so should be a nice quick build.

The box

The cap of the helmet, with some 'silver' and black decorations added.

The inner cap, with the orange cord shin strap added.

The cap with some more decorations added.

Now I've added the back of the helmet, which has some strips of red decoration. There are some more decorative bits ot be added to this still. Those are little red parts which go on all the crosses you can see.
Image

The name plate. A K for anybody who can read it :laughing-rolling: This is actually a gold plated plastic, with the writing printed on a very heavy, textured paper. I glued it on with Revell Contacta Clear.

This is the stand, which will be covered with some felt.

More to come soon.
Cheers

I think it's a 1/4 scale.

A bit more progress,

The 3,000,000 little red parts are glued on to the helmet. This took ages !!

Image

The side pieces are completed. The decoration is printed paper, glued on with Revell Contacta Clear, which worked really well. There are a couple of gold medalions glued on top of the paper, which are also fixed the Contacta Clear.

Image

The is a front decoration. Again, a paper decoration glued in place.

I finished it last night, so I'll post some pictures in the next day or so, and I'll measure it too.

Here's the last two 'in progress' photos

The side pieces glued on.

And the large gold decoration in place.

Here is the finished model. It would fit a head about 5.5cm in diameter.
